New year, new fees!
From 2023 onwards, ILGA World will implement a new membership fee model, taking into account the suggestions from our members.
During the 2022 ILGA World Conference, our members approved the resolution regarding the adoption of a new fee structure.
The new structure consists of a sliding scale of fees based on the organisation’s annual budget. Through the payment form sent via email, each member organisation will be able to choose the fee that best fits its financial status, and ILGA World will not ask for any budgetary documentation.
At ILGA World, we understand that organisations might face challenges to their financial stability, no matter the functioning of their country´s economy. Therefore, our new membership fee structure bases fees on the financial stability of the organisations, and not on the division between high or low-income countries as in the previous model.

We thank our members for once again helping us to improve our work and make our “queerpreviously used as a derogatory term to refer to LGBT individuals in the English language – and still perceived as offensive by some - queer has been reclaimed by people who identify beyond traditional gender categories and heteronormative social norms. Although not universally accepted, it is often used as a catch-all to include many people within the larger community of people with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and sex characteristics. ILGA World membership
1869 organisations from 169 countries around the world are currently members of our ILGA World family. We have two types of membership: full membership – open to lesbianadjective/noun to describe a woman whose enduring physical, romantic, and/or emotional attraction is to other women. Women and non-binary people may use this term to describe themselves. More, gayadjective to describe people whose enduring physical, romantic, and/ or emotional
attractions are to people of the same gender. Men, women and non-binary people may use this
term to describe themselves. More, bisexualadjective used to describe a person who has the capacity to form enduring physical, romantic, and/ or emotional attractions to those of the same gender or to those of other genders. More, transadjective/umbrella term to describe a person whose gender identity does not match the sex they were assigned at birth. More, or intersexan umbrella term for the spectrum of variations of sex characteristics that naturally occur within the human species. Intersex people are born with variations of sex characteristics (such as genitals, reproductive organs, hormonal and chromosomal patterns) that are more diverse than stereotypical definitions of male or female bodies. Up to 1.7% of the global population are born with such traits; yet, because their bodies are seen as different, intersex children and adults are often stigmatised and subject to harmful practices – including in medical settings - and discriminated against. More non-profit organisations, and associate membership, for any other association wishing to support ILGA World’s operations as an allya term used to describe someone who is actively supportive of LGBTI people. It encompasses straight and cisgender allies, as well as LGBTI people who actively support other populations within the community at large. More. Our members play an active role in shaping the direction and work of ILGA World and enjoy many benefits – including access to a global and regional LGBTIacronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people. Although this is not the acronym available to describe people of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and sex characteristics, it is the most commonly used in United Nations spaces and advocacy.
