Movement strengthening

Building a bigger “we”, in solidarity and action across social justice movements.

How we do it

No matter the colour of our skin, the opportunities we have had in life, and the food we enjoy on our tables, most of us want to belong. At a time when reactionary forces and governments choose to shrink space for people to come together and demand change, ILGA World is building a bigger “we”.

For us, LGBTI movement building means forming a constellation of more than 2,300 member organisations from over 170 countries and territories, sharing resources, and creating spaces to learn from one another. We strengthen the skills of activists dedicating their lives so that our communities can experience justice and contribute to society. We work alongside feminist, SRHR, democracy, climate justice, disability rights, racial justice, and other movements to move liberation forward for everyone.

When we collide in regional networks, global conferences, and cross-movement action, together we create a beautiful universe where everyone can belong and thrive.
