From UN recommendations to national advocacy: a members’ dialogue
Join the ILGA World meet-ups: a space dedicated to our membership to share their experiences, learn from each other, and support our global communities!
Human rights recommendations have the greatest impact when communities actively use them to drive advocacy, accountability, and lasting change.
We welcome our membership to register for the launch of the good practices guide for follow-up on UN recommendations, a practical resource designed to support our communities in turning recommendations from UN human rights mechanisms into effective tools for national advocacy, monitoring, and follow-up.
Whether you engage with the Universal Periodic Review, treaty bodies, Special Procedures, or other human rights mechanisms, this session will offer useful practical insights and strategies to strengthen your advocacy and community engagement efforts.

From UN recommendations to national advocacy: a members’ dialogue
Ever been to an ILGA World members’ meet-up?
These events are informal meetings of our global membership. They provide a platform for peer exchange, learning, visibility, and global solidarity.
The next meet-up will take place on 20 July to discuss how we can make human rights recommendations more practical and relevant to our local advocacy efforts.
Join our new meet-up, exclusively dedicated to ILGA World member organisations, to
- Understand the Good Practices Guide and its practical approaches
- Reflect on national implementation and follow-up across human rights mechanisms
- Explore how recommendations can become meaningful drivers of change when they are monitored, used, and owned by our communities
