Sport & Rights Alliance

A global coalition to change the game

The Sport & Rights Alliance is a global coalition of leading NGOs and trade unions bringing about a world where sport is an authentic force for good.

Organisations in the coalition, including ILGA World, work together to embed human rights and anti-corruption across the world of sport.

We use our collective influence to pressure global sports bodies to respect international standards for human rights, labour rights, and anti-corruption, in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

  • We represent and engage with athletes, fans, workers, journalists, grassroots organisations and communities most impacted by the human rights risks of sport – especially women, LGBTI people, people of colour, survivors of abuse, and youth.

  • Engaging directly with the International Olympic Committee, FIFA, and other sport bodies, we advocate for affected people to exercise their rights and participate in the highest levels of sport decision-making.

Through campaigns and movement building, we leverage sport’s massive, passionate audience to drive global awareness, apply strategic pressure, and propel social change.
