ILGA Oceania

ELEVATING RAINBOW PASIFIKA VOICES ON THE GLOBAL STAGE

The mission

ILGA Oceania members bring together lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, and Rainbow Pasifika communities — including sistergirls, brotherboys, takatāpui, whakawāhine, tangata ira tāne, mahu, vakasalewalewa, palopa, fakaleiti. akava’ine, fa’afafine, fa’atamama, and fakafifine people — from 80 organisations across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, and Oceanic Pacific countries and territories.

The role

ILGA Oceania advances LGBTI advocacy in the Pacific and the region, strengthening community-led initiatives through tailored capacity assessments and development plans, so that each community receives the support that matters most to them.

Translating global standards into locally relevant laws, policies, and practices, together we advance LGBTQ, intersex, and rainbow Pasifika rights in Oceania.
