ILGALAC (Latin America and the Caribbean)
CREATING RESPECT FOR LGBTI PEOPLE'S RIGHTS IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN FOR PEOPLE TO LIVE IN EQUALITY, FREEDOM, AND JUSTICE
The mission
ILGALAC works to achieve equality, freedom, and justice for people of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and sex characteristics.
It does this by advocating for LGBTI rights in Latin America and the Caribbean, influencing policy, and strengthening LGBTI organisations, international and regional institutions, governments, media, and civil society.

The role
ILGALAC unites over 400 organisations across Latin America and the French- and Spanish-speaking Caribbean countries and territories.
Through advocacy, strategic litigation, and training, together they create a region that respects LGBTI people exercising their human rights, and a world that guarantees justice and equity to everyone, regardless of people’s sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and sex characteristics.
