Equal Rights Coalition
Governments and civil society for LGBTI people's human rights
The Equal Rights Coalition (ERC) is an intergovernmental body of 42 member States in partnership with global civil society to protect LGBTI people’s human rights and promote inclusive development.
For the 2024-2026 period, the government of Spain and the civil society co-Chairs Caribe Afirmativo from Colombia and Fundación Triángulo from Spain chair the Equal Rights Coalition, while ILGA World hosts its secretariat.

Equal Rights Coalition members
The Equal Rights Coalition is a global mechanism that works with governments, civil society, and other stakeholders, and it is represented in countries across the world. Currently, 42 States across Africa, Europe, Latin America, North America, Asia, and Oceania are part of the Coalition. In addition, the ERC also has a civil society network, with organisations from across the globe.

Thematic working groups
The thematic working groups of the Equal Rights Coalition focus on specific issues affecting LGBTI persons, such as the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, national legislation, humanitarian protection and advocacy, international diplomacy, and donor coordination.

ERC conferences
The Equal Rights Coalition conference is the only global convening of its kind in which states, development cooperation agencies, civil society, international organisations, philanthropic foundations, and other relevant stakeholders come together to advance LGBTI people’s human rights and inclusive development.
