IDAHOBIT 2023 THEME: “TOGETHER ALWAYS: UNITED IN DIVERSITY”
Summary
Decided during a large consultation with LGBTIQ organisations from across the world, the theme will allow for advocacy and celebrations in many forms – be them from human rights defenders, LGBTIQ civil society groups, millions of people in our communities, and our allies.
At a time when hard-won advances for our LGBTIacronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people. Although this is not the acronym available to describe people of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and sex characteristics, it is the most commonly used in United Nations spaces and advocacy. More communities around the globe are increasingly under threat, the power of solidarity, allyship and community across identities, borders, and movements has never been more necessary.
When we unite, in all our beautiful diversity, that’s when we can really bring about change!

To facilitate participation at all levels in such a relevant day for our communities worldwide, as of January 2023 ILGA World has taken a more active role around IDAHOBIT, by coordinating the Working Group and hosting its Secretariat.
