Join ILGA World at the 70th Commission on the Status of Women with our partners and activists in New York.

The 70th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), taking place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from March 9–20, 2026, is a major global forum focused on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

This session is especially important because it centers on a priority theme: ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls. That means promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems, eliminating discriminatory laws and practices, and tackling deep-rooted structural barriers that impede women’s rights and full participation in society.

Decisions, agreements, and commitments from CSW70 are expected to influence national legal frameworks, support advocacy efforts worldwide, and help monitor progress toward global targets such as the Sustainable Development Goals.

It is not a time to be quiet about the challenges or be hesitant with actions, commitments and resources. It is a time to build bridges and lift one another by taking an intersectional approach centred on human rights.

If you are at CSW70, join ILGA World at the events we will co-host, to support and add your voice to the issues affecting lesbian, bisexual, trans, and intersex women, as well as our communities at large!
