LGBTI homelessness and poverty: contribute to a report

The Special Rapporteurs on the right to adequate housing and the Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights are planning to produce a report on the decriminalisation of homelessness and extreme poverty, and will be collecting inputs until 15 September 2023.

The mandates are seeking information on efforts made to decriminalise offences frequently associated with homelessness and poverty, such as street vending, begging, staying, sleeping, easting or undertaking any other life-sustaining activities in public spaces.

At ILGA World, we believe this is a good opportunity for our communities to share information about the lived realities and issues LGBTI people face in the context of homelessness and poverty with the mandates.

ILGA World will be collecting information on this topic to present a submission to the mandates and will be collecting inputs until 11 September 2023. If you have any information, data or testimonials relating to this subject in your region or country, please reach out to us at sp @ilga.org.

We look forward to contributing to this important report together!
