ILGA Asia

For an inclusive Asia where everyone enjoys freedom, equality, access to justice, and respect for diversity.

The mission

ILGA Asia promotes universal respect for human rights and eliminates discrimination based on SOGIESC in Asia.

Through community building and networking, the region empowers and supports LGBTI rights in Asia for individuals, communities, and organisations, and advocates for equality and an end to discrimination regardless of people’s sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, or sex characteristics, and end discrimination.

Our role

ILGA Asia builds a more sustainable, resilient, and impactful LGBTI civil society across the region. It strengthens their capacity to work with human rights mechanisms and shares strategic information and knowledge with them, so they can advocate for LGBTQ and intersex in Asia to exercise their rights.

Together with ILGA member organisations, it builds solidarity across communities through networking and collaboration, and works with parents and religious leaders to increase understanding and acceptance on SOGIESC issues across Asia.
