CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS: STATE-SPONSORED HOMOPHOBIA REPORT (GLOBAL LEGISLATION OVERVIEW)

Dear friends,

Earlier this year, ILGA World released the 13th edition of our State-Sponsored Homophobia report, looking at how laws in countries from across the world affect people on the grounds of their sexual orientation. In the upcoming weeks, ILGA World will publish an update to the Global Legislation Overview chapter of the report to track the legal progress and backtracking that took place since March this year. In the English version of the report, you can find this chapter at page 171. In the Spanish version of the report, the chapter is called “Panorama Global de la Legislación” and it can be found at page 173.

You can now help us shape our forthcoming update, and there are several ways for you to do that.

First, we invite you to send us your feedback, comments or corrections to any inaccuracy you may have spotted in past editions.

If you would like to refer our attention to specific materials you or your organisation may have produced or published, or any other material that you know is out there and could be cited in the State-Sponsored Homophobia report, we will be happy to receive your suggestions. When doing so, please include links or attach any material you may want to share.

Of particular interest to the report is any news or material regarding enforcement of legislation criminalising consensual same-sex intimacy, legislative initiatives to bring about change on any aspect of SOGIE law, judicial decisions and public policies, including progress or backtracking at the national/federal level, at the state/provincial level and at the local level. All kinds of sources (journalistic, academic, NGO reports, etc.) in any language are welcome.

You can send your comments, materials and contributions to [email protected] until December 1, 2019.

Your support is fundamental, and we thank you in advance for what you will be able to share with us!
