Ever been to an ILGA World conference? This is your chance to assess where our communities stand, share experiences and best practices, build alliances and partnerships, discuss the future of our movement, and collectively chart ways to advance equality worldwide.
The ILGA World Conference 2022 will take place from 2 to 6 May 2022 in LA Long Beach, CA, United States, hosted by the It Gets Better Project.
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are continually monitoring the situation and taking health precautions in the preparation of the event. The health, safety and well-being of the public and visitors are our highest priority. Follow this link to read more about the precautions that we are taking, and about the contingency plans that we are preparing in case travel remains unsafe or impossible.
From ILGA World, we acknowledge and offer our respects to the Tataviam, Chumas, and Tongva tribes as original inhabitants of the lands we will be on during the conference. We invite you to get to know their traditions and experiences: follow this link to watch a video featuring interviews with Queer/2 Spirit members of California’s Native American tribes.
Change: our world has never needed it more than now. Covid-19 is only one of the emergencies that our planet is facing: climate change, sexism, racism, social injustice, economic disparities are only a few of the deadly presences we are battling against. Crises build upon the damages made by other crises. Those who are already marginalised end up struggling to survive even more.
LGBTIQ communities have always stepped-up in times of hardship, and we are again called to bring radical, positive change. Youth have been a crucial presence in social justice movements: the way they mobilise others, speak truth to power and weave intergenerational alliances is a powerful force for our community, and society as a whole. LGBTIQ youth are our future. They are also our present. And together we can change the world. Follow this link to find out more about the developing programme for the 2022 ILGA World Conference!
ILGA World values the diversity of identities, backgrounds, views and experiences of all the people taking part in our events. We are committed to the fullest possible participation of everyone, and we want to make sure that no one at the conference is harmed by the actions, language and attitude of others.
Therefore all participants – conference participants, guests, visitors, staff, support staff, volunteers and facilitators – will be asked to observe and abide by the ILGA World Code of Conduct for events. ILGA World will have a team on the ground to help with ensuring the Code of Conduct is followed and reserves the right to ask any person who does not observe it to leave the event. Follow this link to read the ILGA World code of conduct.
