These events are part of ILGA World's #inthistogether: CONNECTED,
our series of online roundtables and advocacy webinars on the queer world during and after COVID-19

The roundtables will explore both the impact and response of LGBTI organisations and groups across the globe to the COVID-19 pandemic. The events will be opened by interventions from ILGA World’s Co-Secretary General Tuisina Ymania Brown (first roundtable) and Luz Elena Aranda Arroyo (second roundtable) and the UN Independent Expert on SOGI Victor Madrigal-Borloz. 

The opening statements will be followed by set interventions from organisations and groups from different world regions and a discussion with the roundtable participants. 

We will be seeking to address important questions:

• how is the global pandemic impacting on LGBTI communities and organisations?
• how have LGBTI organisations been reacting to the global pandemic?
• what are most urgent issues and threats that civil society needs to address in this crisis?
• what are possible strategies to respond to the more long-term implications of the crisis, such as decrease in funding, economic down turns, continued restrictions on human rights and fundamental freedoms?
