Gaydar is the much-reported ability of gay people to identify other gay people just by looking at them.
The Northeastern University, Boston, study is based on a small group of women, some lesbian and some straight. The lesbians were far better at predicting sexual orientation than straight women, whilst straight women were found to be better at predicting thoughts and emotions
Other recent studies have also suggested that ‘gaydar’ does exist and is based on sensitivity to facial features.
