The flyer for the "Capacity building in fundraising: a practical workshop",
an event from the Queer Youth Dialogues series organised with CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality
How does a youth-led organisation secure funding? What do donors look for in an application? How can I develop an effective funding strategy for my cause?
Join the Global Queer Youth Network and CHOICE for Youth & Sexuality for a workshop that aims to answer these questions and more.
On October 27th at 16:00 CET we are hosting a practical workshop focused on fundraising, joined by CHOICE for Youth & Sexuality we will be introducing a toolkit resource and delivering a practical workshop session on its use. Workshop places are limited, so please be sure to sign up below fast to avoid disappointment!
What is this session?
This session will introduce CHOICE’s toolkit resource, which has been developed through interviews with researchers and a global survey where organisations shared their experiences of navigating the donor landscape in the hope of raising funds to support their work in a variety of challenging contexts. Following an introduction to this toolkit, the session will move into a practical workshop where participants will be invited to create funder-oriented items for use in their future activism and advocacy.
Who is this session for?
This session is aimed at activists, advocates, organisers, and change-makers within the area of LGBTIQ+ youth. If you are interested in increasing your capacity to understand donor landscapes, this is the session for you! We will also be providing a space for discussion with other global participants.
What will I gain from joining?
- have increased capacity and knowledge concerning funding for youth issues, movements, and organisations.
- have greater knowledge and practical pathways to developing funding strategies.
- gain insight into the perspectives of funders when confronted with youth-led organisations.
- have increased awareness of the challenges faced by LGBTIQ organisations when seeking funding.
The Queer Youth Dialogues are a series of programmatic events, trainings, and connection opportunities which invite LGBTIQ+ young people from around the world to engage, build capacity, network, and share their experiences. The Queer Youth Dialogues are facilitated in partnership with ILGA World, the UN Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth, the Independent Expert on protection against violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, and the Global Queer Youth Network.
