This privacy policy sets out how ILGA World uses and protects any information that you give when you use this website. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.
This website (ilga.org) together with any non-English language versions (the ilga.org websites) are provided by The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA World).

We take seriously the privacy of you as the user of the ILGA World websites and any information we collect from you. This document sets out our Privacy Policy in relation to you and your personal data.

How do we collect information, and what for?

We collect certain information when you visit our website and when you sign up to receive news, make a donation, register for an event, send an enquiry, apply for a scholarship, or otherwise provide us with personal information.

What information do we collect?

Data we might collect includes your IP address, location information, name and email address. Additional information may be collected as you apply for scholarships, register for events, or apply for your organisation to become a member of ILGA World.

The ILGA websites use Google Analytics to collect data about the use of our websites. This information is anonymous, meaning that online behaviour cannot be traced back to individuals. ILGA World’s website, like most websites, uses cookies. This statement explains what cookies are, how ILGA World uses them, and how they can be controlled.

What we do with the information we collect?

ILGA World uses the information we collect about you to help us understand how our website is used, to send communications about ILGA World’s news and events, LGBTI news from around the world or other information which we think you may find interesting, for administration purposes and to further our strategic goals, including for fundraising activities.

ILGA World does not store your personal data longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected.

ILGA World uses Paypal to process card payments and regular donations. Click here to view Paypal’s privacy policy. We do not store the payment card details you provide to make a payment.

Your rights

We will not share your information with third parties without your consent. You can request to access your information or opt out of communications at any time by contacting privacy[at]ilga[dot]org.

You have the right to view, correct or remove personal data at all times. You also have the right to withdraw your consent for ILGA World to process your data, or to object to the data processes in place at ILGA World. You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, transfer of your personal data or a request for cancellation of your consent, as well as any objection to the processing of your personal data to privacy[at]ilga[dot]org. We will respond as soon as possible, but within four weeks, to your request.

Opting out for our newsletters and other mailings

All our digital newsletters are equipped with a link by which recipients can remove themselves from the email list. If you experience difficulties in cancelling your subscription, please send an email to media[at]ilga[dot]org. We will respond as soon as possible, but within four weeks, to your request.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure or unauthorised modification, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Transfers

ILGA World mostly operates outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).

Countries outside the EEA all have different laws regarding the protection of your personal information. When your information is moved from your home country to another country, the laws and rules that protect your personal information in the country to which your information is transferred may be different from those in the country in which you live.

By using our Services, you understand that ILGA World may share some of your personal information with other ILGA World members and partners in non-EEA countries, for purposes described in this Privacy Statement.
