Jose Guillermo Ricalde Perez

Guillermo Ricalde (he/him) is a Programme Intern at ILGA World, working on UN Treaty Bodies and Special Procedures. 

He is currently a scholarship holder from the Erasmus + European Union's program, pursuing a master's degree in migration and intercultural relations with focus on sexuality and gender for the University of Oldenburg and the University of Stavanger. He also holds a bachelor's degree in law and another master's degree in human rights and the rights of native peoples in Mexico. During his studies, he has researched LGBTI migrant's and refugees' home experiences and has participated in international conferences. 

Before joining ILGA World, Guillermo worked in human rights activism and facilitated workshops for universities, NGOs, and governmental institutions on gender equality, LGBTI rights, and gender-based violence in Mexico. He has also been awarded for his research in intercultural mediation and alternative legal processes for ethnic groups and his research on discrimination towards women based on the intersection of age and gender.
