Mental and physical health and SDG 3: contribute to a new report

The Independent Expert on sexual orientation and gender identity Victor Madrigal-Borloz has published a call for inputs for a report on the right of LGBTI and gender non-conforming persons to the enjoyment of physical and mental health, in relation to the Sustainable Development Goal #3 (SDG3).

The logo of the Sustainable Development 3 (the chart of a heartbeat with a heart at the end of it) sits at the left of the image, which also reads 'Mental and physical health and SDG3 - contribute to a new report. Send your inputs by 20 January 2022'. The ILGA World logo sits at the bottom left of the image.

This can be a unique opportunity to highlight problems faced by our communities globally in regards to their health, and also address the implementation of SDG3 in different regions.

ILGA World is planning to contribute with a written submission to this call, and we would appreciate your support with any relevant information you could share with us.

Inputs related to sexual health and reproductive rights for lesbian, bisexual, and trans women; access to health services for trans and intersex persons; the challenges faced by LGBTI persons to access HIV treatments; hate speech effects on LGBTI person’s mental health, among others, are highly encouraged.

Particularly, we are looking for statistics, descriptions of cases, testimonies, good practices, and examples of national health plans and projects that are (or are not) implementing health rights standards for LGBTI communities.

If you would like to contribute to our submission, the deadline for sending inputs to ILGA World will be on the 20 January 2022.

We would very much appreciate your support and, as always, we would be happy to acknowledge your contribution to the submission.
