Kellyn Botha (she/her) is ILGA World's Communications Intern.
Kellyn studied Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University in South Africa from 2013 to 2016 before beginning work in the LGBTIQ+ advocacy sector at Iranti.
She has worked closely with activists from across Southern and East Africa on a number of projects, assisted in documenting the 2018 Pan Africa ILGA conference in Botswana, and co-facilitated a number of sensitization trainings with medical practitioners in South Africa. In 2019 Kellyn began her Master's Degree project at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, analysing the pervasive representations of transgender women's genitalia in "mainstream" film.
In her spare time Kellyn likes to run, learn about history and science, or simply enjoy nature.
