Fraud alert

ILGA World has become aware of the existence of websites and social media pages that use parts of our name to promote services that ILGA World does not offer, and never has.

Most of these websites – usually promoted via dating apps – promote an alleged verification service for dating apps and sites, and ask for your credit card details and personal data to access registers of sex offender data.

ILGA World is no way associated with any of these services. They are scam websites. Do not sign-up.

Please always remind that:

  • ILGA World and its regions do not allow individuals to sign up for membershipsonly organisations can apply to become ILGA World members, and their application is thoroughly reviewed.
  • ILGA World never ask for credit card details directly: membership fees and other payments always happen through the Paypal website or our bank account.

ILGA World wishes to warn the public at large about these potentially fraudulent activities being perpetrated purportedly in the name of the organisation.

We advise you to watch out for potential frauds – which could result in financial loss and identity theft – and alert us in case you come across any of those pages by writing to media @ilga.org. Victims of such scams may also report them to their local law enforcement authorities for appropriate action.

ILGA World is monitoring the existence of potentially fraudulent pages, and is actively working with developers, hosting providers and reporting services to have them taken down.
