The Fifth International Intersex Forum (5IIF) will take place between 30 March and 3 April 2020 (location TBA). 21 and 25 September 2020 (NEW DATES, see announcement here)

The 4-day Forum will bring together intersex activists, advocates and organisations from all world regions to strategize, exchange and learn from each other. Building on the previous four intersex fora, the 5IIF aims at developing a political closing statement that outlines positions of the global intersex movements and formulates political demands. Further the forum participants will develop a sustainable mechanism on how future for a shall be organised.

A training on community organising, organisational development and/or advocacy work will take place in conjunction with the forum.

At this point we are seeking volunteers from all World Regions to join the Organising Committee of the Forum: please find the call for the forum’s organising committee below.

More information about programming and applications for attendees will be available at a later stage.

Call for applications: 5th International Intersex Forum Organizing Committee

Further the forum participants will develop a sustainable mechanism on how future fora shall be organised.

A training on community organising, organisational development and advocacy work will take place in conjunction with the forum.

If you are an intersex advocate, activist, or represent an intersex organization we welcome applications to join the 5IIF. Members of the organising committee and individuals participating in 5IIF do not need to be members of ILGA World.

The responsibilities of the Forum Organizing Committee will include:
  • Regular virtual meetings with the intention of revising the previously produced content of the International Intersex Forum for the purpose of community revision at the 5IIF.
  • Development and scheduling of programming for the 4-day Forum with the assistance of ILGA’s team.
  • Regional advocacy community communication of the Forum’s application.
