Farai Chikwanha (she/her) is a former commercial lawyer from Harare and is now based in Italy while she builds her career in human rights. She has a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Cape Town and a master’s degree in international human rights law from Lund University.
Farai has accumulated experience in human rights wherever her education has taken her, including raising awareness of sexual and gender-based violence and working with asylum seekers in South Africa, and volunteering at RFSL and Amnesty International in Sweden.
She has been published in the International Journal of Refugee Law and currently shares responsibility for a human rights advocacy and academic blog founded last year. A great fan of storytelling, Farai is also the co-host of a podcast which shares the personal and professional journeys of fellow Africans around the world.
