Alejandra Fierro Castro (she/her) is a feminist and human rights defender. For the last 6 years, she has been working for gender equality and peacebuilding in Colombia.

She was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, and due to the internal armed conflict in her country, she decided to dedicate her life to advocating for equality and peace. Her commitment to this cause compelled her to accomplish a dual degree in Anthropology and Political Science from Los Andes University. Specifically, she has been leading processes of political participation, reconciliation, cultures of peace, care economy, and gender-based violence.

For the past two years, she has been working with women´s and LGBT grassroots organisations in conflict-affected territories, strengthening their advocacy skills and planning political incidence strategies to promote the implementation of the gender commitments of the Colombian Peace Accord.

She is passionate about intersectional feminism, gender, and peace, and wants to pursue a Master's in Global Development to research the inclusion of afro and indigenous women in leadership and influential positions within local governments in a post-conflict setting.
