SYDNEY’S WORLD-FAMOUS HABOUR TO BECOME A DANCE FLOOR

It is one of the very few parties to be held on Sydney’s harbour foreshores each year, so it’s understandable that the excitement for this weekend’s Mardi Gras Harbour Party is palpable. And according to Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras chief executive Michael Rolik, it is in fact the only LGBTI-friendly party that’s ever held on the harbour foreshores.\n

With a bigger dance floor in store but similar northboud stage set-up this year, he said the party was more than just about the music.

“When you dance, you get this magnificent vista overlooking Sydney Harbour,” he said. “So you get beautiful sunset views of the harbour and then you’re basically dancing under the stars.”
