Sex-change bid to ease pain of alleged rape

An intellectually disabled boy left traumatised after being allegedly repeatedly gang raped by older students at a small Queensland private school wants a sex-change operation to "alleviate the emotional pain".\n

The young man, now 21, this month lodged an application with the Supreme Court in Brisbane seeking leave to claim compensation for psychological injuries from the school’s operator — a respected not-for-profit group.

In an affidavit filed by his lawyers and seen by The Australian, the man alleges the abuse began in February 2004 when he was 12 and his abusers, three older students each diagnosed with intellectual disabilities, were 14.

He claims he was raped on a twice-weekly basis by one student and was regularly gang raped by the three teenagers in unsupervised boys’ toilets after swimming lessons.
