Regional Network Against Homophobia Will Meet in Ankara, Turkey

Nineteen countries from North Africa to Caucasus, from Middle East to the Balkans will meet against homophobia in Ankara next week. The 4th Regional Network Meeting on 12-15 March will welcome representatives of LGBT and women's organizations from 19 countries.

Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Egypt, Georgia, Greece, Iraq, Israel, Kosovo, Lebanon, Macedonia, Montenegro, Palestine, Serbia, Tunisia and Turkey.

Besides this year’s theme "Media", issues of "Digital and Physical Security" will be discussed at the meeting.

There will be a solidarty match for referee Halil Ýbrahim Dinçdað, as well. After the match, there will be an open forum on Cebeci Campus of Ankara University, "Football Against Discriminations".

Kaos GL, coordinator of the Network, announced the program of meeting, open only to network members, as follows:

9:30 – 12:30 / What have we done so far?
. Presentation by Nevin Öztop
. Group discussions on the presentation.

13:30 – 16:00 / Structure of the Network
. Communication strategy
. How do we prevent possible lack of internal communication in the future?
. How do we really want to operate when certain unexpected issues?
. Brand name, overhead letter, joint website for the network?
. Jo Hammoud wrapping up the 1 page of "agreed list"

16:15 – 18:00 / Theme: Media!
. Best experiences of,, and more.
. The Queeristan Film Festival and discovering its media impact, by Yossef(a) Mekyton, Israeli Queers For Palestine, Israel
