This move is necessitated by the loss of more than 4.2 Billion Kenyan shilling through corrupt officials at the Ministry of Education headed by Prof. Sam Ongeri who has refused to resign over this scandal.
This press conference has been called for all stakeholders from KNUT, COTU, COFEK, NGO Council, Student Leaders, National Youth Council and all civil society groups.
Gay Kenya therefore prides in inviting gay persons to this event and show solidarity with the rest of Kenyans who wish to see a different Kenya. Gay Kenya will be represented by David Kuria and Denis Nzioka, the Executive Director and Public Relations officer respectively who will amplify the voice of Kenya’s gay community that is intent on bettering Kenya for all.
A march/demo is also planned as part of this process on July 19th that will coincide with the opening of Parliament. This demo will seek to show our MPs that the common mwananchi has the right to hold them accountable and that the mwananchi himself has the power to vote them it ore remove them.

You are hereby invited to a Press Conference to be held on Wednesday July 13, 2011 at 11.30am outside Ministry of Education offices at Jogoo House.
The Press Conference to be attended by KNUT, COTU, COFEK, NGO Council, Student Leaders, National Youth Council and all civil society groups interested in good governance and the fight against corruption in Kenya is aimed at putting pressure on the two Principals, President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga to sack Education Minister Sam Ongeri over his FPE Kshs. 4.2 Billion stolen money.
The move is also to give moral support to Mr. Okiya Omtata and his group who have been camping outside Jogoo house with the same objective plan for a one million march in the city in the over the same on the 19th to coincide with the opening of parliament.
