I lived in a moderate size city in the US , I was attacked by a man while walking down the street in the middle of the day. He mistook me for a cis woman and attempted to rape me (this is bad enough) when he found out I was trans he proceeded to try to beat me to death. After getting out of the hospital and attempting to report it, the police laughed about it and even misgendered me on the report.
