You are invited to participate in a research study to contribute to the field of Couple and Family Therapy. The purpose of this research is to examine the potential relationship between emotional intelligence and relationship satisfaction. Previous research about relationship satisfaction has EXCLUDED same-sex and cohabitating couples. This has prevented researchers and therapists from developing effective therapeutic interventions that can be used with all couples, not just married couples. All couples, regardless of living situation or sexual preference, deserve to have access to quality therapy. By participating in this research study, you have the opportunity to provide couple and family therapists with valuable information that may allow them to help all couples in therapy more effectively.
In order to participate, you must be 18 years of age, fluent in written English, currently in a relationship that has lasted a minimum of one year, and currently reside in the United States.
