My name is Morgan, I'm from Australia, but i live and work in Nigeria as a safety officer with Grand Marine Oil and Gas. Outside my job I'm also a gay and lesbian right activist, i run an underground gay right advocacy organisation known as Nigeria Gays and Lesbians Right Defenders(NGLRD). Gays and lesbians in Nigeria are facing a lot of challenges ranging from discrimination, brutality, total rejection by family members, some are even lynched to death just because of their sexual preference, the last straw that broke the camels back was the signing of anti gay law by the Nigerian president. This law stipulates 14yrs imprisonment for any gay or lesbian couple or relationship. You can read more about the challenges being faced by gay and lesbian community in Nigeria on: http://m.digitaljournal.com/news/world/gay-men-dragged-from-homes-brutally-beaten-by-nigerian-mob/article/371008. Having seen all these challenges being faced by gay and lesbian community in Nigeria, i decided to take it upon my self to fight for their right. So many of them are languishing in prison cell because there is nobody out there who is ready to speak on there behalf. Everybody is afraid to speak, i spent years pretending to be what I'm not, for how long will this evil continue to thrive? i have been there voice, i have been paying for attorney for those in prison, i have lobbied, i have done the little i can to help these people who are dying not because the committed any crime but because they are exercising their freedom of choice. i want to use this medium to call on all lovers of human right, the gay and lesbian community all over the world to come to the rescue of these innocent citizens. Those who are ready to support us in this struggle can reach me through my email: aleinmorgan@gmail.com or https://m.facebook.com/morgan.alein.3?refid=17 . Freedom is all we ask for. We will continue to fight until victory is achieved.
