When I was 10 yrs old, I noticed that I am gay.
But I did not accept my sexuality and I tried to be a heterosexual. The reason was simple: I could not imagine my future as a lesbian. In Japan gay marriage is not legalized yet, and homosexuality is not taught in school basically. Gay couples barely would be seen on the street. I did not know even whether lesbians really exist or not.
I stopped my trials in vain to be a heterosexual when I was 22 yrs old. Now I moved to France with my French girlfriend and we are legally partners under the PACS law. Honeymoon, to be called as "wife", having my family-in-law... everything which I thought impossible is in my hands. Really, really happy and I am very thankful for the PACS law.
But now I am struggling about many problems in my country, Japan. One of my good friend who is gay can not come out in her office / A girl who is only 15 had been bullied because she is gay and she tried to kill herself / If you google "lesbian bullying" in Japanese you'll get only crappy porno films... and what is more, of course, problems are not only in Japan, not only for lesbians. I hope all of us could be ourselves one day.
