I recently attended an event that was jointly supported by ILGA (A poster exhibition) and ACCEPT. I wanted to attend both nights of these events as i am married to a non european and we can not settle in cyprus as our union is not recognised.
The event in PAFOS was great it was just a shame that when the draga ct asked who was gay that members of Cypruss Accept were to embarassed to raise their hands. out of 50-60 people present less than ten could say they were gay ? how can cyprus expect to fight for same sex rights when even people within the organistaion seem to have a problem with their sexuality. Over the 2 nights there were no petitions to be signed to any government (cypriot or european) demanding our rights, no leaflet of information handouts, no contact handouts for accept or ILGA, in fact NOTHING
