CAMFAIDS - Every day, homosexuals are discriminated against. Gays are considered psychopaths, depraved, demons and followers of cults or magical practices belonging to secret societies to rob others of their powers. The lesbians are also in the same way. Trans people are seen as errors or mistakes, as people who do not have the right to live.

CAMFAIDS - Yes, when you are a trans or gay man, with a feminine physical appearance or when you are a lesbian (butch), relationships at work can be difficult. When people know about your sexual orientation, you are perceived as less of a person. In the work environment it is seen as a lack of skill on your part. People do not see you as someone who has the necessary skills to do his job.

CAMFAIDS - Certainly, and these are usually verbal and sometimes physical. These include provocations and insults in public (on the street and in bars). Often people are beaten and robbed. The security forces are accomplices and even authors of these crimes. Because of law 347 of the Penal Code, people can do as they please against homosexuals Cameroon.
Because of ignorance, not much is known / understood about being trans. It is our experience that most trans people do not want to be seen and they live under the umbrella of gay. However, violence and discrimination are still the same.

CAMFAIDS - The media reflect what society thinks about LGBTI and the media are instigators of hate speech with regard to these communities. In fact, the press describes LGBTI as sick, not normal, and even demonic. Some go as far as to think that homosexuality is the “evil” that weakens the Cameroonian society. Public opinion is also that there is not hope for Cameroon with homosexuality.
