‘Parents, identify transgender children’

Awareness on transgender tendencies begins in the home as it is the parents’ responsibility to understand his or her child.

Transgender Suria London said parents and siblings would know if a person is transgender because in the case of male to female transgenders, femininity shows at the age of three.

“Awareness should start from home and not in school. Parents should acknowledge their child’s condition and investigate further why their son wants to become a woman. “Parents should bring their son or daughter to a psychiatrist to understand what’s happening,” she said.

She added it was important for parents to understand their child as by understanding them, the world would not lose another child to hate crime.
