LGBT orgs move to help Yolanda (Haiyan) victims

Three days after supertyphoon Yolanda devastated many parts of the Visayas group of islands, Bisaya lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) organizations have been forming partnerships to also lend a hand.

With “Abag Leyte”, Bisdak Pride Inc. partnered with the Redemptorist Center for Social and Ecological Concerns (REMSEC) to accept donations in cash or in kind for organized relief operations in areas affected by Yolanda.

“We would like to help reach those in areas that even now remain not reached by any relief operations,” said Roxanne Omega Doron, executive director of Bisdak Pride Inc., which was formed in 2005 to help unify LGBT organization in the Bisaya-speaking populace.
