Television anchoring is often seen as the exclusive preserve of handsome men and lovely women. But Lucky stormed it, and the transgender is creating waves with the show, ‘Aranyam’, on Channel V6.

For a programme on transgender community in the city, the channel had earlier telecast a brief interview with Lucky. That is how the channel stumbled upon the potential anchor material. When the channel was toying with the idea of a different presentation of their crime news bulletin, Lucky’s name popped up.

“Though hesitant initially, she took it up as a challenge, and we could put her on air within a month as anchor for the show,” says Ankam Ravi, CEO, Channel V6. Aranyam is on air from Monday to Friday at 8.30 p.m., with repeat telecast at 10 a.m. and 4.15 p.m. the next day.

“This is an opportunity to prove that we are also equally talented,” says Lucky who has also participated in fashion shows at the national level.
