Radio Alouen : Closer to Algerian LGBTs

in ALGERIA, 01/07/2013

The Alouen Association for Algerian LGBTs will be putting forward, as of July 4th, a series of downloadable podcasts on the Internet under the name "Radio Alouen".

Since its creation in October 2011, the Alouen Association has chosen to be close to the LGBT community by adopting a local awareness approach in all the activities and actions that it undertakes. An important and necessary step in the creation of an Algerian LGBT culture and the nourishment of the consciousness of the right to existence and affirmation.

The podcasts of Radio Alouen fit into this context. They are pre-recorded programs of 10 to 15 minutes in length in the spoken Algerian language (the daridja). They are made by Algerian LGBTs and treat various issues affecting them through various sections such as news, debates, practical information, cultural venues, interviews and advice on prevention and health.

The episodes will air on a weekly basis, every Thursday night. You can find them on the Alouen Association’s website, its Facebook page or its YouTube channel Radio Alouen. They will also be available for direct downloading.

Listeners can intervene to comment, discuss or ask questions on the Facebook page on which a follow-up will be provided by our hosts Ayoub and Farès.

Come then and discover Radio Alouen starting Thursday, July 4, 2013.

With Radio Alouen, let your voice be heard !
“Mâa Radio Alouen, khelli sawtek mesmouâ !”
