Out in the Square forecast: mostly fabulous

in NEW ZEALAND, 24/01/2012

The wind is set to really whip up on Sunday night, however, that night's gay events in the capital are both indoors; the Carmen memorial at S&M's and the Glitter dance party at the Opera House later that night.

Wellington's big gay anniversary weekend:

*Out in the Square, Saturday
Featuring stalls featuring food, fashion, fitness, Wellington band Poppy Dust, newbie pop artists PattyBoy and Zakk d'Larté and Miss Drag Wellington 2012. From 11Am until 5PM at Civic Square. Free and family-friendly.

*Carmen Rupe Memorial, Sunday
S&M's on Cuba Street is paying tribute to the late diva with a gathering from 7PM.

*Glitter, Sunday
The upstairs foyer area of Wellington's glamorous Opera House will be transformed into the ultimate gay dance party (plus the verandah for smoking and fresh air), complete with three hot DJs: Steven Oates, Ramon Te Wake and DJ Juzi, and special performances. From 9PM, tickets $15.
