Fed up with continuous harassment and discrimination, transgender community has urged the Central government to form a welfare board for them. The board as envisaged will help them address the issues plaguing them at government level.
According to Ravina, transgenders despite the physical abnormality are citizen of the country and are entitled for all constitutional rights. Unfortunately, she said, they were being deprived of their constitutional rights and ill treated.
The community in a bid to assert their right decided to organise two-day "All India Third Gender Sports Meet" at Raipur which will besides show causing their sports talents also be used as platform to discuss about the issues afflicting the community.
