Call for Consultants for an External Evaluation of CREA's "Count Me In: Addressing Violence against Marginalised Women in South and Central Asia?" Project

in INDIA, 24/08/2011

CREA is seeking a consultant to conduct an external evaluation of the impact and results of its Count Me In Project.

CREA has historically worked with marginalised women in India such as sex workers, disabled women, lesbian and trans women. Within this work, the organisation has found that these women are often excluded from anti-violence programmes. In order to empower marginalised women and incorporate them within broader efforts to tackle Violence Against Women (VAW) in South Asia, CREA launched the Count Me In Project.

This project addresses the stark gender inequalities that persist in South and Central Asia, which manifest in high rates of VAW, gender gaps in education, health, and employment, and continuing son preference. The Count Me In Project addresses these inequalities through four interrelated initiatives: (1) a grassroots leadership building programme (Count Me In: Work With Me?); (2) a research programme (Count Me In: Learn About Me?); (3) an advocacy programme
(Count Me In: Campaign For Me?); and (4) a conference (Count Me In!: A South Asian Conference on Violence Against Marginalised Women?).

CREA invites applications from consultants who have experience in participatory evaluation and have knowledge of the South Asian context, particularly with regard to women?s rights and VAW. The deadline for applications is 1 September 2011. Please find attached the detailed call for applications.
