The annual report on the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia 2011 can now be accessed HERE.

Activists from over 90 countries took action this year around May 17, confirming once more the relevance of the Day as a specific entry point for action.

With activity reports, including on media coverage, coming in from many countries, the IDAHO Committee estimates that the Day has provided the opportunity to impact at least 200 million people worldwide.

This report offers a glimpse of how the Day has been celebrated around the world. It aims at highlighting the strength, the creativity, the boldness and the diversity of the global fight to end violence, discrimination and stigmatization of people on the grounds of their actual or perceived sexual orientation and/or gender identity or expression.

We hope it will provide an inspiration for even more actions to be developed next year.

With our best wishes

The IDAHO Committee team

PS : the report purposefully does not cite any specific organization in the country chapters. Each country chapter title contains a hyperlink to the respective page on our site, which contains all detailed information, as far as we managed to collect it. If there is additional information to upload, or erroneous info to amend, please tell us so at contact@dayagainsthomophobia.org

The country pages also will soon provide a space to link to the sites of organizations which have been involved in IDAHO action. The site has registered 100 000 visits on the days around IDAHO 2011, so we hope this will bring your organization increased visibility. If you would like these sections to feature a specific page of your site, please send us the specific URL.

Thanks!
