Bhinneka features the events surrounding the 4th ILGA Asia Surabaya Conference in March 2010.
"Bhinneka" is a new non-profit publication in Indonesian language; it deals with themes related to diversity and to supposedly unchangeable matters like religion and tradition. It was started in October 2009 and is printed with 5000 copies.
This edition is a special issue on the events surrounding the cancelation of the ILGA-Asia Conference in Surabaya; it contains a wide range of testimonies and reflections of those who were at the conference and beyond. It sends a powerful message of injustice in the face of intolerance and hatred, as well as the impotence of the State that was founded on the very basis of diversity.
Printed issues can be purchased for free in 19 cities throughout Indonesia. To get a softcopy, download the attachment at the foot of this page.
