Preparation to host the 16th International Conference on HIV/AIDS and STI in Africa (ICASA 2011) to be held here on 4-8 December 2011 is well underway, ICASA 2011 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) said.
ICASA 2011 LOC President, Dr. Yegeremu Abebe told journalists on Thursday that preparations are well underway to welcome more than 10,000 delegates expected to attend the African focused conference. The conference to be held under the theme: "Own, Scale-UP and Sustain", will provide a forum for exchange of lessons learned and experiences gained in evidence-based responses against HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and related health problems in Africa, he said. ICASA 2011 will pull together thousands of individuals working to prevent new HIV infections through a combination of prevention, care and treatment interventions in Africa. The International Conference on HIV/AIDS and STI in Africa (ICASA) is organized by Society for AIDS in Africa (SAA) every two years.
