Join the Contest to Design the Logo for the 2006 Moscow Pride Events

A competition to design the official logo for Moscow Gay Pride has been launched today August 10th. Pride is to be staged for the first time in the Russian capital on May 27 next year, the 13th anniversary of the decriminalization of homosexuality in the country.

“We encourage people from all over the world to join in this competition,” said Nikolai Alekseev, head of the Project GayRussia.Ru. “And we promise to choose the best logo no matter where the entrant lives.”

He added that the rules are simple. “The main requirement is decency, implementation of the rainbow component and of famous Moscow city symbols.”

The winner will receive a prize of 200 Euros. All entries will be published on the GayRussia.Ru website.

Moscow Pride will include international conference on the rights of sexual minorities, the Parade and an entertainment programme in the Moscow gay clubs.
