Janfrans Van Der Eerden, European representative on ILGA's board

Janfrans has been active as a volunteer in the lesbian and gay movement since 1981. For 15 years he partcipated in the local branch of COC Netherlands in Leyden as board member, on national policies and international contacts with England and Poland. In 1996 he moved to Amsterdam and became an active board member for the local community. In 2001 he returned to COC Netherlands and became a member of the international policy group. Because of his African experience he focused on matters outside Europe. Since early 2003 he works closely together with ILGA in Brussels.

He is an architect and worked on various restaurations and new projects. In the 1980’s he worked in Kenya for several years. He currently runs his own firm.
