During the 2012 elections, Vice President Joe Biden called transgender discrimination, “the civil rights issue of our time.” While this is a sign that transgender rights are garnering national attention, the population continues to face many obstacles in accessing needed health care. GAHT is the acronym of Support Group for Trans Men. We work on two principal aspects, one is external, the other internal. The internal one is intended to guide trans men on their options if they wish to follow a process of sexual reassignment and to advise them on other possible options. They can also ask us to help them from a legal point of view for a change of name and sex if they wish. That remains very difficult in Chile, but it is possible. >>>
