The last couple of years have seen progressive LGBT people taking on issues other than equality, as well as bringing the debate into the community. Israel and the Palestinian cause has been a flashpoint. With Equality Forum in Philadelphia poised to honor Israel this May, progressive blogs have denounced the organization and suggested the honor be withdrawn. Their argument is easy to appreciate: Israels oppression of the Palestinians & Palestinian state. Those progressives might have a point, but that point is misleading and downright anti-equality. >>>

Philadelphia this May. While attempting to celebrate the purported advancements of LGBT civil rights within Israeli society, the Equality Forum is partnering with the Israeli Embassy in Washington and the Israeli Ministry of Tourism in promoting the Tel Aviv gay tourism agenda. >>>
A group of U.S. LGBT human rights academics and activists are speaking out, calling for an end to Israel's occupation of Palestine after being the first openly queer delegation to tour Palestine last month.
