ILGA-Asia Regional Board Announces Scholarships to the 4th Asia Regional Conference in 2010

The 4th ILGA Asia Regional Conference will be held in Indonesia in March 2010. The ILGA-Asia Regional Board announces the availability of scholarships to the conference. The deadline for the submission of scholarship applications is January 25, 2010.

The 4th ILGA-Asia Regional Conference: "LGBT Asia Moving Forward," will be held on March 26-28, 2010.   The Regional Conference aims to contribute to strengthening ILGA-Asia, as well as the LGBT movement in Asia.  The conference intends to come up with the following: 

1. Shared vision and prioritisation of issues for ILGA-Asia Region;
2. New members, especially from West Asia subregion;
3. Election of Board members;
4. Agreement on organisational setup of the future ILGA-Asia secretariat; and
5. Approval of the ILGA Asia Constitution

ILGA conferences are traditionally open to all, to both members or non-members of ILGA.   The conference is open to people of all sexual identities and orientations supportive of LGBT issues and concerns in Asia.  Over 150 LGBTQI activists from all over Asia are expected to participate in this 3-day conference.  Special attention will be given to equal representation of women and transgender persons.

To submit an abstract for a paper or workshop, send a 300-word abstract in the required format and submit to on or before 25 January 2010.
