Ecuador: LGBT Film Festival “El Lugar Sin Limites” is launched

The LGBT Film Festival El Lugar Sin Limites has opened submissions for its ninth festival. The festival welcomes submissions of feature-length and short documentaries (except for institutional materials), fiction features and short-form experimental fiction, animation and works of video art having Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian and/or Trans. themes.\nThe festival will be held simultaneously in five Ecuadorian cities from November 17th to 27th, 2011. Filmmakers wishing to participate should submit their works by August 1st, 2011.

 The LGBT Film Festival, El Lugar Sin Límites is organized by The festival is presented across five cities in Ecuador and has gained widespread acceptance among the public as well as significant importance within public institutions and the media.

 The key aim of the festival is creating a space for cultural and social integration, through an event that combines knowledge, entertainment and reflection about the issues of sexual diversity, relevant to any society.

 The official festival selections will consist of two categories: Feature films and short films. Within each category, works may be fiction or documentaries. To participate, works must have a post-2008 copyright and should be in Castilian / Spanish or have subtitles provided in Castilian / Spanish.

There will be awards for the best works within in each category (fiction features, documentary features, short documentaries, short fiction and to the best work from Ecuador). Entries that have been previously shown at commercial venues or have participated in other festivals within Ecuador are not eligible.
